I was taught to not ask “why?”unless it is to find an answer for a scientific question. Because it instantly puts a person on the defensive side. I would rephrase it with “is there a reason for this question?” Then the “what” and “which?” I really like your help on this lesson. It is certainly needed. Thank you

I don't understand why we're not answering the question? if they really wanted to know they could just look up your house online and find out how much you paid for it. maybe they're curious about how to get a house themselves what they should be looking for how much your house was worth because maybe they want a house like yours and they want to make a budget. if you invite someone over into your home I assume they would have at least the trust to ask how much you worked for it?
