alex :

to put this plain and simple, the capsule didn’t dissolve in the water because it is either room temperature or cold! temp matters because they’re made of gelatin. capsules deliver their dosage quicker. think of an express delivery. tablets are slower acting and break down inside any liquid regardless of temperature because of the microscopic pores between their ingredients. they’re better for slower, more controlled dosages. i can go into further detail but this is generally how it works. there are other things that come into play regarding certain coatings for both.
