@bensfinance: If you’re living with your parents, take advantage of it while you can. You’ll likely have more disposable income now than at any other point in your life, so use it wisely. I paid cheap rent and chose to invest as much as I could. #investing #stocks #PersonalFinance When investing, your capital is at risk. Investments can fall and rise, and you may get back less than you invested. Past performance is no guarantee of future results. Other fees may apply, please see terms and fees. I am not a financial advisor, and this information does not represent financial advice. Tax treatment depends on individual circumstance.
This isn’t a linear thing for everyone, some people pay no rent to stay at home, some people do, some people got a car bought for them, some people didn’t. Some people stay with 1 parent, and need to contribute a lot, some don’t.

Dude in the video is right. You'll never have a time with more spare cash on hand than when you living at home. if you can't save when living at home then you need to earn more or spend less. harsh but simple

Depends on your family background too. My parents don’t own a home and are working class so I help with bills to make things lighter for them. It’s doable but I do have to watch what I’m spending…

agree, both my boys are on apprenticeships amd saving £4000 per year into their LISA, £4800 into their workplace pension including additional contributions and £3000 into their stocks and shares isa, do the hard work 18 to 30 and you could never pay in again and still retire happy, self education is the key.

I wish staying with my parents had been an option. The amount id saved from paying private rent is insane. Unfortunately living with them would have driven me insane hence I had to move out.

Realistically you should be saving over 75% of your take home wage, if not then you’re spending too much on stupid stuff.
