If someone hurts you, it’s a sign they do not truly care for you, because genuine liking or love does not seek to cause pain. Harm isn’t limited to physical actions; it can come through words, neglect, betrayal, or cruelty that leaves no visible mark. These emotional injuries often linger, shaping how a person sees themselves and the world long after the moment has passed. Bruises to the heart can hurt just as much as bruises to the body—sometimes even more—because they are harder to see and harder to heal. A physical wound is acknowledged and treated, but emotional pain is often dismissed or hidden, forcing a person to carry it alone. Over time, those unseen wounds can weaken trust, confidence, and hope, proving that pain of the heart is no less real or damaging than pain of the flesh. You are worth so much more. All you need do is realize and understand this. You deserve to be loved the way you wish and not the way someone else thinks you deserve.
