idk if i like this but whatevs only posted as an excuse to rant all i could think of while making this is the damn cycles of this family. how yes sam&dean are dangerously codependent but that was rooted in their parents relationship as well, it quite literally started there. they wouldnt have been the way they are if it werent for john throwing away his whole life and their lives for mary. i rlly dont think that each of the brothers only directly mirrors one parent, i think one of the most beautiful aspects of their family is how each one carries a small part of mary&john. however i will never get over the direct parallel between mary&dean + john&sam. mary&dean both trying to get out of the hunting life despite it being the one sure thing theyve known their whole lives, john&sam respectively dying first in their arms, and despite them having the chance to bring their parents back, they dont, but offer what they had in return for the ones they want most to come back. both of them being extremely reckless in that sense, mary not caring how this will affect her future and dean not caring about losing his soul to eternal torture. they gave up everything on the moment, for not only love, but because they couldnt be alone. and i specifically love the scene when dean sees mary making the deal, and this is more of a personal interpretation but i like to consider that he saw himself in her at that moment. JOHN&SAM!!!!!!!!! LITERALLY THE RZN I THOUGHT OF THIS AT ALL. yes everyone in the show and in the fandom talks abt their similar obsessive tendancies but its more than that. theyre similar too in their relationship with mary&dean respectively. how both of them pre mary&dean were these bright passionate boys who were excited for their futures, then both having to see them die horrifically, FOR them. and those certain deaths changing them forever. i will never not shut up about how sam literally became john after dean's death, not jessica's. sam was never the same after that, the drinking, the lilith hunt, the recklessness, the cutting everyone out of his life; literally just john after mary. never getting over that detail EVER. also sam realising in s4 how their dad was right for the way they raised them after all, after having lost the most important person in their lives holy yap apologies anyway the album misery is a butterfly by blonde redhead which is where this song is from its super underrated and super amazing everyone should listen♡♡♡ ────୨ৎ──── #deanwinchester #samwinchester #supernatural #winchesters #spn
