@finiliee_: like i wish people would look more at nahida as scara's actual friend and also maybe try to look at parallels between scara and dottore instead of just seeing dottore as some evil parental figure for him #GenshinImpact #genshin #scaramouche
I just CANT see Nahida and Wanderer’s relationship as a “mother-son dynamic” (don’t let me started with the shippers) I feel like that label kinda reduces their relationship in a way that doesn’t do either of them justice like not every deep relationship has to be familial and not every form of care has to be motherly (((TO MEEEEE)) they’re more than just regular friends There’s so much mutual respect and trust between them and I love how they influence each other without either of them losing their individuality What I love most about nahida is how she handles Wanderer’s negative thoughts She doesn’t try to change him or force a new identity onto him Instead she helps him see things from a different perspective and opens up possibilities he hadn’t considered before Like when they talked about growing (in the end of 6.6) and she connected the idea of being a late bloomer to being human she gave him a different way to think about his identity, she doesn’t try to give wanderer a new identity she helps him realize that his identity doesn’t have to limit his future She sees beyond his past and mistakes without ignoring them or reducing him to them just gives him room to grow and figure himself out on his own instead of telling him who he should be or fix him I also see this side of her in the way she treats her people she doesn’t rely on her authority to keep herself distant from them Instead she tries to understand them and help them more like a friend than archon she doesn’t have to be everyone’s mother to be caring and she doesn’t have to act like some distant authority figure to be “the archon” what makes nahida and wanderer’s relationship so special is that neither of them has to give up their independence she opens new doors for him but he’s still the one who gets to decide how he sees himself and his future nahida doesn’t save Wanderer from himself or whatever the bullshit the fandom is saying She helps him realize that he can redefine himself on his own okay can I talk about how they trust each other? No? Okay

Exactly, Nahida is presented as wanderer’s friend. Having a power imbalance in terms of mother son relationship doesn’t really fit especially when he has a history of being manipulated and “betrayed” by those who have power over him. Nahida (and traveler) being essentially an “equal” fits because of that safety.

Tsaritsa and Childe.
How people want to push up the agenda of those two being like Mother and son. I understand it when it comes to Skirk, because she indeed is like a paternal/Big Sister figure to childe.
But Tsaritsa??? Really???
They don't even try to hide the real reason they want to believe Tsaritsa sees Tartaglia as a son.. That is what creeps me out

UGH THIS! And then they take you to the chopping block for saying it. NOT EVERYONE IS YOUR FAMILY! AND THATS FINE! It might just be because I’m getting older but holy hell if I would blow a fuse if someone 5 years younger than me called me their parent. And that’s the age gap a lot of the time (I watch a lot of anime)

i mean, fundamentally, that's a concept that fits them. they have a much more complex history, as literally every relationship on earth. but it's just a way to classify them

For me, one of the reasons Nahida serves as a mother figure to Scara is the parallel between Ei and Nahida in Scara’s “three betrayals.”
Scara saw Ei as his mother. The betrayal he experienced from her both shaped his views on the concept of "godhood" and created a maternal void in his life.
As another god, Nahida shows a parallel to Ei concerning Wanderer’s three betrayals. Just as she impacted his perspective on divinity, I believe she also began to heal the wound left by a mother. I completely understood what you meant earlier—sometimes complex and unconventional relationships get oversimplified as "parental figure/family bond." But I truly think relationships that mirror a mother-child bond run very deep. In my opinion, familial relationships are far deeper than friendships. (Of course, it depends on how it's written!)
Scaramouche found the maternal affection, acceptance, and guidance from Nahida that he could never get from Ei. Nahida never tried to change or suppress him; instead, she acknowledged his wounds and allowed him to turn a new page for himself. That is why I see them as having a very deep bond as mother and son

I really hate hate HATE EVERY dynamic people press Furina and Neuvilette into. Lovers? Siblings? Paternal? They are all so INCREDIBLY WRONG I want to scream my heads out every time I see it. Their relationship is so intricate it just doesn't compare. There is devotion and deceit, shared responsibilities and betrayal, the switch of ruler and subject, and compassion. Loyalty. All on both ends. The very question of what they are to each other lays at every step of their fragile relationship. They are like sun and moon in the rawest form, before any meaning is assigned and they become symbols of something else again
