@gray.area.finance: The Monzo 1p vs 4p savings challenge update! 💰📈 What started as saving a few pennies a day is getting seriously expensive now 😂 But the amount you could have saved by the end of the year is incredible! Would you manage the 4p challenge, or would you stick with 1p? 👀 #Monzo #SavingsChallenge #MoneySavingTips #PersonalFinanceUK #SavingMoney
Day 300 is where the maths turns on you. On the 4p version that is £12 a day leaving the account, and the final month is the most expensive of the year. The reverse idea in the comments is genuinely smart, start heavy in January while motivation is high and coast down to pennies by December.

do it in reverse, start with the Dec amount in January and by the end of Dec 27 it will be pennies

I successfully completely 1p challenge last year and thought it was a piece of piss so started the 4p one 1st Jan. I’ve not dipped in and spent any cash but I have reduced it down to 2x since it was becoming unsustainable for me. I do have different/other savings pots so there is a lot going on. Aiming for 2k in savings challenge come Dec 31st! Wish me luck! 🍀

Ha! I’m doing the same and the £1 a week challenge! Every week I’m like “just think of Disney, just think of Disney”

Feel like the reverse (starting high and ending lower) would be better

Wish there was a lock option for X days or withdrawal delay, far too tempting to dip in and out!

Couldn’t of said this better - I’m in the same position doing the 4p challenge and it definitely is a struggle - I don’t even want to think what December is going to be like (think everyone is getting a meal deal for Christmas 🤣)

I have 2 separate standing orders of £2.50 pounds per day into my savings that I have reference named Nero and pret. I just make my coffee at home but it's psychologically doesn't count to me as losing money so I don't really notice it as much and across 365 days that's £1, 825 without even really noticing

I did the 1p and 4p together so had to change the 4p to 2p. One ends soon and I have the other until the end of the year! Gutted but it was too much!

I spin a wheel each day so I have a varied amount each day. We are cashing ours in today as we start every year on the 1st of November so we have the money for Christmas. Follow me I try and post every day.
