The key word here is ✨Estimate✨. Insurance companies are intentionally obtuse, and they are constantly changing the rules. Each carrier can have hundreds of different types of plans. And there is no standardization of how they send us information about your plan. So when we verify your insurance, we are at their mercy of what information they give us. Many offices will build a “blue book” of fees from different carriers and plans, to best estimate your costs. If another patient has the same plan as you (say you both work at the same company), we can get a better idea of how insurance will pay, if they downgrade, or if they have new rules. But again, it is simply an estimate. This is why we have a financial disclosure on every treatment plan, estimate, and new patient intake.
