HARARE — The Zimbabwean government has formally dismissed a public plea from Apostle Talent Chiwenga, who recently recorded an emotional video requesting a one-week reprieve from alleged state action to visit his family's graves. In a statement posted to social media, government spokesperson Nick Mangwana rejected the premise of the cleric's request, asserting that the state is not pursuing him and has no intention of blocking him from mourning. "We have noted the rather dramatic, tear-stained video of a certain member of the preaching fraternity, who appears to be recording himself in a state of profound emotional distress to beg the Government for permission to visit his family’s graves," Mangwana wrote.
