If Miz comes in and doesn't get it done and they still lose now he can't start game 5. Makes sense. Have to still play smart baseball. Todays game should be better all around

A pitcher who doesn’t have a ton of control put into a situation that’s more stress than he’s ever felt bc he’s still so young. For all we now he would’ve walked in the runs

Because he’s going to start tonight and then they’d like him available if they do get to a game 7. Misiorowski also doesn’t have a history of coming in to relieve, and when he struggles with command it tends to be early in games. Let’s say he came in and was wild and threw 30 pitches and got out of the inning giving up just the tying run, but the Rays win an inning later. Understand the Brewers need just one win more… but they’d be harming their ability to get that one win in games 5 and 6 especially.

I understand the logic perfectly. You have a 3-0 series lead. If you bring Miz in to pitch, and he blows it, now you don't have a game 5 starter with conviction. If that were a game 7, you best believe Miz would have been in there. Two totally different scenarios

Game 4 on the road up 3-0 no reason to empty the bench. You throw him last night he probably isn’t available until game 7. It makes total sense to not throw him last night

It’s game 4 of a 7 game series that they are leading 3-0 at the time. Rushing a starter to get hot suddenly when they took the lead to then not have him available to start game 5 potentially seems more like a panic move rather than trusting your teams ability to win.

THANK YOU! I understand why they didn’t use him, but using him would’ve been the courageous choice. Worst case you let him face the minimum and take him out. As soon as Coop hit the HR I immediately said you have to consider putting Miz in. You played with a finishing mindset all season, yet not when the title is literally 3 outs away???

Can someone answer this question. I thought the rule was with extra ending games, the person that made the last out of the previous inning, they were to be put on second base. Therefore, the home run hit in the top of the 12th, should’ve been a two run home run. Did they abandon that rule just for the World Series?
