We survived a super typhoon that hit our place in the Philippines, and the aftermath was devastating. Our shelters were destroyed, food was difficult to find, and we had no electricity, clean water, or communication signals for almost a year. We collected drinking water from deep wells and even extracted oil from coconuts to make lamps just so we could have light at night.
That experience taught me that knowledge is one of the most important things a person can have. You may own many expensive things, but when disaster strikes, those things can be destroyed or become useless. Knowledge and practical skills, however, help you adapt, find solutions, and survive even when you have almost nothing. At the end of the day, it's not just about what you have, but what you know and how you use it.
