I feel like ADUs are just a sham for the government to reap money. No one really wants to live an ADU. If they’re desperate and smart, they’ll rent a room or a small apartment (if they have a family). Home buyers and sellers are just chasing a ghost. Home sellers will e raise the price on their property either because there is potential for ADU or there is an ADU on the property. Sellers, mainly investors, will agree to said ridiculous price which drives up cost of living. Government wins off taxes, investors and corporations win, the little honest guy/girl loses.

Multigenerational or corporations? He says, “rent an adu”, that means you share the outside space. Especially you have a room mate. We looked at renting a house on Adam’s ave 5 years ago for 3k, turns out the also rent out the garage adu so we’d have a stranger room mate. We did not take it, just bought our own house instead.
