@loveisintheair801: Eminem’s Billboard interview is making the rounds again as his criticism of Donald Trump keeps drawing fresh attention online. The Detroit rapper, born Marshall Mathers, told Billboard he had no regrets about going after Trump in his BET Hip Hop Awards freestyle, “The Storm,” which was aimed squarely at his own fans who backed the president. “At the end of the day, if I did lose half my fan base, then so be it, because I feel like I stood up for what was right and I’m on the right side of this,” Eminem said. He went further, questioning why working-class fans kept supporting a billionaire president. “I don’t see how somebody could be middle class, busting their a** every single day, paycheck to paycheck, who thinks that that f***ing billionaire is gonna help you,” he said. The comments followed Eminem’s politically charged album Revival, released weeks earlier, which included several tracks aimed at Trump. Eminem also called himself and Trump “polar opposites,” saying he understood comparisons over their shared bluntness but little else. Trump and the White House never responded to the freestyle or the interview.
