@howitworkssss: ⚡📸 MIT Built a Camera Fast Enough to Watch Light Move! 🤯 What if you could actually see light traveling through a scene? Researchers at MIT developed ultra-fast imaging systems capable of capturing events at an astonishing rate—up to around one trillion frames per second in certain experimental setups. At these speeds, scientists can observe phenomena that happen far too quickly for ordinary cameras, including light pulses traveling through objects, reflecting from surfaces, and producing delayed shadows. 🔦🍎 One of the fascinating demonstrations involves watching a pulse of light move through a scene and reconstructing its path frame by frame. Because light travels at roughly 300,000 kilometers per second, even a tiny room represents an extremely fast journey for a light pulse. This technology doesn't simply make ordinary videos faster. Specialized techniques are used to capture and reconstruct extremely short events, giving researchers a way to study processes that would otherwise be invisible. Ultra-fast imaging can have applications in physics, biology, materials science, medical imaging, and engineering, allowing researchers to observe phenomena occurring on incredibly short timescales. 🔬⚙️ The human eye sees light almost instantaneously. This technology lets scientists slow the journey down and study what happens along the way. 🤯⚡ 🎥 Credit: PBS #Physics #MIT #Light #Camera Science Technology Engineering Optics Photonics PhysicsFacts STEM ScienceExplained Innovation AI Content shared for educational & informational purposes. rong🤣🤣 if light is not already in the camera theres no image, lol see light dont move the way you guys say and dont have "speed"

but that's not the fastest camera because some can go up to quadrillions fps

light isn't as fast as "the speed of light" because what we refer to as the speed of light is light in a vacuum

it's not exactly a camera. the light has to reach the camera too, so it's a camera combined with other high speed measuring devices which I can't remember what they called it. The total clip is then rendered with the several inputs. I saw it on another documentary that went into details

Someone needs to explain how this works please. How is the light getting to the camera sensor faster than the light to the tomato?
