What she hasn’t mentioned is how much it cost the sister in law to attend the wedding/hen/ and the cost of the gift. I’m wagering a lot more than £80 she got back for the dress 😂

Let’s view the bridesmaids dress as a gift, which is essentially what it is. If you were gifted something that you used however no longer found the use for it should you be penalised for selling it or returning it? Nope!

80 profit on the dress but how much has the bridesmaid spent on the wedding? the hen (possibly more than one), hotel room where the wedding is, all the other small things needed for the day. my bf paid about 1.5k being a best man 😂 probably more actually

I feel like she probably spent more than £80 to attend the wedding... shoes, make up, bag, cost of the hen nights etc it all adds up attending a wedding. she probably should have waited longer than a week to sell it but maybe shes trying to make back all her money she had to spend attending the wedding 🤷

I bought my own bridesmaid dress and paid for alterations for my sisters wedding. My mum asked to borrow it to take on holiday and a week after I gave her it my mum sold it on FB and kept the money 😂

nah I wouldn't care I encouraged my bridesmaids to sell theirs. Its a gift. no way I would care. I think jts a cheek to not care about people selling pr stuff but care about this 🤣

My view is very much I paid for the dress, it was in my budget then I gifted them to my bridesmaids. it’s up to them what they then do with it? I wouldn’t rush to judge especially in this climate as you don’t know what the SIL financial situation is? The bride chose to clearly take debt to pay for her wedding. Did the SIL pay for her shoes, accessories, hair/make up? Did she spend money on accommodation to stay over? She would have also bought the couple a gift, attended and paid towards hen do’s and potentially stag do if she has a partner or got married? I think the bride definitely needs to let that one slide.
