And they say that universal healthcare is expensive? Your deductible is higher than what I pay in taxes to have healthcare.. 😱 and to top ít off… you have to pay that amount of insurance as well? Madness

The majority of people aren't aware of this, but the US federal government spends more on healthcare per person than any other country in the world. The problem with US healthcare is it is profit driven. Hospitals should not have shareholders

Maybe the hospital should put ALL the fees in easy to decipher format and reduce the costs so we can just cut out the billionaires that own our Healthcare insurance.

serious question from scotland; why not put what you'd normally pay into a savings account for future medical emergencies and go medical tourist when you need planned treatment?

I’m fortunate with employer subsidized coverage. My employer was covering 75%. In 2027 they are covering 62%. That along with increase results in premiums almost doubling for worse coverage. Plus my adult child will fall off in 2027 with no employer insurance.

$50,000 a year is over $4,100 a month just in insurance premiums! Even someone making $250,000 annually would be spending 20% of their entire gross income on health insurance alone. And here’s what’s interesting: $24,000 is exactly the ACA’s maximum family out-of-pocket limit for 2027, which is NOT the same thing as a deductible. Are you sure you’re not confusing those two? And is $50,000 what you’re actually paying, or is that the full price before any subsidies? I’m not saying it’s impossible, but those are some extraordinary numbers, and there’s clearly some important context missing.
