Im a silent watcher, I started watching because I seen your drive to help your mom and I’ve been in the same boat since I was even able to remember but with my dad. Getting him better is first, I’m last always. Until I lost myself, I used to scream how much I hated drugs because what they did to him. Then I ran into the same demon, I’ve never felt so low about myself after that. The fact I let something happen to me and my family that destroyed my childhood. Really my whole life. Destroyed the last little bit of me but that’s when you have to fight honey. You have to make the make the hard decisions they couldn’t for us, you can beat this and you will. I still struggle. But I know I will beat this disease that affects generations. It stops with us, take time, feel it, grieve it, and come to peace with the fact that absolutely nothing you do can change their mind when it’s already made. We know that best as addicts ourselves. I know it’s better said than done but it doesn’t feel as heavy anymore when you realize that

There was a span of ten years and then 5 years I didn't see my mom due to addiction. Please don't lose hope. Miracles happen. My mom got clean at 75, she's going to be 80 and we've made some great memories these last 5 years. I grieved her while she was still alive for a long time. It's very difficult. I really do feel your pain and I'm so sorry. I want to give you a big hug. Just take care of yourself right now. You can't pour from an empty cup. ♥️

Just know that u gave your mom everything u could.. honestly I didn’t think for a minute that your mom would have stayed sober if u were not in the picture.If she gets sober again it has to be her doing all the foot work. When they show their true colours during a time and stage of needing Love and support. That's when you need to definitely grey rock and choose to close that door and chapter. Some things in life are only there for a small time to be a lesson. I hope you find the right people to support and cherish you for all of what you are. You deserve to be happy and let your kids see you be happy. I'm not the best with words but I hope you're ok hun. I haven't spoken to my Mom in 13 years. She chose to abandon me, I need to think of that as a way she was protecting me and my 4 kids from her abuse.
