@joe.cashflow: I don’t use any crazy loopholes. I just use the tax code to my advantage. Here's everything I wrote off for the 2025 tax year: 1: Software and subscriptions, about $1,245. ChatGPT, Canva, Midjourney, X Premium, Hypefury, and even my budgeting app. 2: The home office, $3,858. My office is 180 square feet out of 1,400, about 13% of my rent. Plus half my internet and phone, another $455. 3: Equipment and travel, around $790 together. About $521 of that was Amazon purchases and a keyboard upgrade, plus an offsite to meet up with the team. 4: Professional help. $1,999 for a tax strategist and $180 to file. And since I'm self-employed, my health insurance premiums ($1,317) are deductible too. All in, that's $10,043. On top of that, I put $4,300 into my HSA and picked up a $500 tax credit just for setting up my solo 401(k) with auto-enrollment.
