Their private jet landed at Miami-Opa Locka Executive Airport that morning. The family traveled through Argentina and stopped in Guayaquil, Ecuador, before continuing to Florida. The trip followed Bolsonaro’s defeat to incumbent President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva in Sunday’s presidential runoff. Bolsonaro left Brazil despite a Supreme Court order to surrender his passports amid a money-laundering investigation, in which he denies wrongdoing. The Trump administration had announced that it would issue visas to Bolsonaro and his family, allowing them to enter the United States.
