So I thought my very smart Corgi , once trained to commands, didn’t need to continue that same training. But if you don’t use those commands for awhile…they forget. AND everyone in the house needs to use the same words for the commands. His training for “go get in your crate” was erased by someone else saying “go lay down in your bed” …which we have in the living room…but THIS command meant “go get in your crate” by that person. See the difference? Small but it matters. When I am working with him and want him to lay down where he is, he spins around and goes to his crate. Now I feel like I need to find different words and stress again that we use the same words. Are we training him or is he training us?🤣🤣 Also, how intuitive are they? I am having irregular heartbeats, and rather than sitting at my feet, he was laying ON my feet. Hmmm, wonder how you train them for that.🧐
