You’re making false assumptions. We do know, we are aware, it just sounds like we don’t because people who ask us about being born and living here don’t comprehend our normality

I appreciate my childhood so much even being born and raised in South Central LA. I grew up skating, hoping over fences to trespass abandoned buildings, malls, skyscrapers. I took pictures, graffiti art, poetry. It was still survival mode on the streets and wouldn’t want my child being raised in the hood. But I def appreciate it for what it was for me.

We know. Trust me. I grew up in the Central Valley and even there, I had so much access to different experiences. Both professionally, and experiences wise. Dolores Huerta (may she RIP), well her son and my dad are friends and then I spent time in college working for a nonprofit and collaborating with her family. And Six Flags was an hour from my hometown. And now, I live 4 blocks from the beach.
