Actually (it feels so good to read comics) in the comics one of Speed’s (Tommy) powers is literally the ability to accelerate molecules to make them explode. He has a diverse set of powers associated with speed so it’s normal he can phase as he accerates his own powers

so you are definitely way off base. Both Wickham and speed have almost enhanced versions of Wanda and Pietro’s abilities. Tommy (Speed) is able to vibrate himself at a frequency that disrupts atoms allow allowing him to walk through walls and move through solid object objects, pieteo is not usually shown to have those powers. and he is also able to generate electricity by vibrating atoms and creating a spark. He’s also much faster than his uncle. And trained better at hand-to-hand combat.
