@npr: Spanish authorities are reporting dozens of people are dead after a high-speed train collision south of Madrid, Spain. The collision took place minutes before 9 a.m. local time, when a high-speed train traveling between Madrid and Seville collided with a train sitting on the tracks for unknown reasons. More than 500 people were traveling on both trains. Government authorities are pointing at a human error. The collision comes after an accident in southern Spain on the same train railway line in January, where 45 people died after a train jumped the track and hit another oncoming train.
