#rainyday #cozyseason #gloomy #writersoftiktok As we inch closer to November, the air has taken on that familiar chill, the trees are shedding the last of their autumn colors, and rainy afternoons are becoming an increasingly welcome part of my days. I’ve always been drawn to gloomy weather. There’s something about watching the rain fall against the windows and seeing the world outside turn a hundred shades of gray and green that gives my soul a little room to reflect. I find myself thinking more, remembering more, and appreciating things I might otherwise overlook in the rush of everyday life. Of course, it also gives me every excuse to indulge in my favorite pastimes. Diving headfirst into my ever-growing TBR, rewatching Harry Potter for what must be the hundredth time, lighting far too many candles, and piling on enough blankets to make my couch practically uninhabitable. And then there’s the writing. Rainy afternoons have a way of drawing me back to my unfinished Substack essays and the chapters of my novel that have been patiently waiting for my attention. I could spend hours tucked away with my laptop, a warm drink, and a dozen half-formed ideas, happily losing myself in the process of turning them into something worth reading. I think that’s why I’ve always loved this kind of weather. It gives me permission to be a little more introspective, a little more imaginative, and perhaps a little less concerned with the endless pressure to be doing something productive. November is nearly here, and I couldn’t be happier to welcome it with a stack of books, a few unfinished stories, and rain on the windows. 🤎 🌲 🌧️
