Alabama football player Dre Kirkpatrick Jr has been kicked off the team after he was arrested for allegedly harassing and doxing a police officer. Kirkpatrick Jr was arrested and charged on Friday with harassing communications and doxing, both misdemeanors, of a University of Alabama police officer. As a result, the son of former Crimson Tide first-round NFL Draft pick Dre Kirkpatrick has been kicked off the Crimson Tide's roster midway through the college football season. 'He did not live up to the standards and expectations that I have set for this team and our players,' Alabama coach Kalen DeBoer said in a statement Tuesday. Kirkpatrick, who had five tackles and one forced fumble in Alabama's first seven games of the season, was designated 'out' before his team's 31-20 win over Texas A&M last week and did not play. According to two criminal complaints filed in Tuscaloosa County District Court on Monday, the police officer says he received a profane message from Kirkpatrick Jr on Facebook Messenger on October 20. Kirkpatrick Jr wanted the officer to text him. The officer said he was 'immediately alarmed' because he had dealt with Kirkpatrick Jr during a November 2025 traffic stop. Last year, the defensive back was also detained on three counts of reckless endangerment and one count of attempting to elude and speeding. When the officer went to Kirkpatrick Jr's profile page to block him, he discovered the football player had posted an image showing the cop with his wife and their two children. It was captioned: 'Dis him?' The officer says the image caused 'sever concern for the overall safety and well-being of himself and his family' because of Kirkpatrick Jr's 'substantial audience and public following.' Kirkpatrick Jr was suspended indefinitely by the Crimson Tide last November after he was arrested on three counts of reckless endangerment and one count of attempting to elude and speeding. His father, meanwhile, was a cornerback who spent a decade in the NFL. Kirkpatrick Sr played for Alabama from 2009 to 2011 before he was taken in the first round of the NFL draft. He played for the Bengals, Cardinals and 49ers between 2012 and 2021.
