EASY APPLE COBBLER - A perfect fall dessert 🍏🍂 Into a 12” Iron Skillet: 4 tbsp unsalted butter 6 tbsp dark brown sugar 6 tbsp heavy cream Add everything to a cast iron skillet and place in the oven while it preheats to 350°F. Once the butter melts, remove the skillet and let the oven finish preheating. Apples: 5 large Granny Smith apples 1 tsp cinnamon 1/2 tsp allspice Juice of half an orange Peel and slice apples, toss with the allspice and cinnamon. Pour apples on top of the melted butter, cream, brown sugar and mix to combine. Cobbler: 1⅓ cups whole milk 1½ cups all-purpose flour 1 cup granulated sugar 1½ tsp kosher salt 1 tbsp baking powder 2 tsp vanilla extract Zest of one orange (optional) Mix all together and pour on top of the apples, do not mix. INSTRUCTIONS Preheat oven to 350°F. Add butter, brown sugar, and heavy cream to a 12” iron skillet. Place in the oven for 4–6 minutes until the butter melts. Remove the baking dish from the oven and whisk the melted butter, brown sugar, and cream together. Add sliced apples, cinnamon, allspice and the juice of half an orange (optional) to the skillet. Toss to combine. Whisk together the milk, flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, salt, vanilla and orange zest until smooth. Pour the batter evenly over the apples. Do not stir! Bake for 45–55 minutes, until golden brown and set in the center. Let cool for 15 minutes before serving.
