My daughter’s school has A PARENT PARADE at 10am where the parents drive 1 time through the drop off circle and the students are outside waving at us 😭😂

it’s cus districts expect teachers to do these activities on their time off, after 3pm unpaid. so teachers would rather do it during school hours so they are paid. it’s honestly not a bad idea.

I wouldn’t mind if they at least gave earlier notice. Sending a message 1-2 days before the event is outrageous. I would gladly take the time off if given at least a 2 week notice to move things around at work.

Guys it’s ok to complain, it doesn’t mean u think there is another solution that makes sense but it’s ok to be annoyed at something. Most schools share the information last min so u may not be properly prepared to go . I am gonna go every single time though

Coming from a current school counselor AND a mother… there will never be a perfect time. If we schedule it for 8 AM, some parents are happy and others are upset. The same goes for literally any other time of day. Even if we scheduled it during your exact lunch break, chances are that’s not when everyone else has theirs. We do our best to accommodate families, but unfortunately, there’s no time that works for everyone. 😅
