@thatmagicalnurse: Nurses carry an enormous amount of responsibility when it comes to keeping patients alive. That’s not an opinion. It’s the reality of bedside nursing. : I think it’s important to remember that if you’ve never worked in healthcare, you truly don’t understand everything that happens behind the scenes. : Nurses are at the bedside 24/7. We’re the ones recognizing subtle changes in a patient’s condition, catching deterioration early, and advocating for interventions before it’s too late. : When a patient codes, nurses are often the first ones in the room. We’re starting CPR, initiating lifesaving interventions, and running the initial resuscitation efforts before the rest of the team arrives. : Think about ICU/ER nurses. They’re constantly monitoring critically ill patients, titrating life-sustaining drips, and making split-second decisions based on their assessments. Some patients are so unstable that an interruption in a critical medication infusion could cause life-threatening deterioration within moments. That’s how much responsibility nurses carry. : We’re not just passing medications and following orders. We’re assessing, anticipating complications, intervening, and advocating every single shift. : Healthcare is a TEAM effort, and every discipline plays an important role. But saying nurses don’t save lives completely discredits the knowledge, critical thinking, and responsibility that come with this profession. : Just because you don’t see everything nurses do doesn’t mean we’re not saving lives. ❤️🩹 : : : @wearfigs #nurse #nursing #nurses #nurselife #nursingstudent

I blame the media, all the tv shows always show the drs doing EVERYTHING, cpr, labs, wound care, but the reality is the nurses are doing a majority of it
