exactly why is it so obsessively, weirdly descriptive about breasts and milk, but completely empty when it comes to actual parenting? every time rhys or feyre is spending time with nyx it’s because he’s being breastfed. every single time Nyx is mentioned, every single passage pertaining to him is exclusively about breastfeeding. there is literally nothing else written about this fucking baby. not a single line about his laugh, his personality, his quirks, or his life. he doesn't even feel like an actual child he’s just treated like a prop whose only purpose on this earth is to suck boobs and cause anatomical tingles for feyre. having every single reference to a baby be about latching, unlatching, gulping, and twitching wings is just terrible pacing and repetitive prose. remember how hard she fought for her autonomy, her healing, and the explicit choice to live her life first before even thinking about children? her whole journey was about reclaiming her body, her mind, and her destiny after years of trauma and sacrifice. having her completely abandon that stance because of a single, emotionally manipulative conversation, rather than her own organic desires, undermines everything she fought for. she’s basically becoming the fantasy version of a conservative trad wife, and i’m supposed to think this is empowering character development? the feyre i loved and found interesting was an angry stubborn and resourceful woman, she hunted to keep her family alive and fought for her survival and then just got slowly dismantled to become rhysands wife. is female empowerment marrying the most powerful man, moving into a mansion, and having his baby?
