Jim Halsey is the young protagonist of *The Hitcher* (1986), played by C. Thomas Howell. He begins as an ordinary, vulnerable young man travelling alone, but after picking up the mysterious John Ryder, his life becomes a nightmare. Ryder becomes obsessed with Jim, repeatedly tormenting him, killing people around him, framing him for murder, and deliberately pushing him toward violence. Nash is one of the few people who tries to help Jim while he is being hunted, but Ryder ultimately kills her, further destroying Jim’s remaining sense of safety and trust. As everything around him becomes increasingly violent and unpredictable, Jim loses faith in humanity and begins to view people as fundamentally untrustworthy. He does not see himself as having a meaningful relationship with anyone, including Ryder or Nash, and remains emotionally detached from the idea of forming a relationship with another person. By the end, Jim has become consumed by his hatred and distrust, turning from the person being hunted into the person doing the hunting. After Ryder kills Nash, Jim pursues him and ultimately kills him himself. Although Jim does not become a villain in the traditional sense, he has been psychologically transformed into a much darker version of himself, almost becoming a reflection of Ryder as he abandons the innocence and trust he had at the beginning. ib: fyp (forgot username sorry) #fypppppppppppppp #cthomashowell #thehitcher #jimhalsey #actives

#STARLIGHTGLIMMER #TRIXIELULAMOON #mlp #mlpedit #equestriagirls . . . . . . . . A recurring trait of Starlight is that when she encounters a problem, she tends to overcorrect. Instead of handling situations naturally, she uses powerful magic or complicated plans to force outcomes she believes are ideal. In many ways, her greatest flaw is believing that intelligence and control can solve emotional problems. She is exceptionally talented at magic — arguably one of the strongest unicorns in the show — but her power reflects part of her personality. Magic is something she understands because it is predictable. Relationships are harder for her because people are unpredictable. Emotionally, Starlight is someone who feels deeply but does not always process feelings in a healthy way. She experiences guilt intensely because she knows the damage she caused in the past. She wants redemption, but redemption is difficult because she constantly fears failing again. Over time, she becomes more balanced. She learns empathy, patience, and trust. What makes her compelling is that unlike many redeemed characters who change quickly, Starlight continues struggling with old habits. Her growth feels gradual and realistic. At her core, Starlight is someone who once tried controlling the world because she was afraid of losing connection with others, and her story becomes about learning that genuine relationships cannot be forced. The reason the friendship between Starlight Glimmer and Trixie Lulamoon works so well is because both characters understand insecurity, but they express it in opposite ways. Starlight deals with insecurity by trying to control everything. Trixie deals with insecurity by creating an exaggerated version of herself. Starlight is internally focused. She overthinks and becomes anxious. Trixie is externally focused. She projects confidence and demands attention. Starlight fears losing people. Trixie fears not being valued by people. Because both characters understand rejection and personal failure, they connect in ways other characters often do not. Their friendship works because each gives the other something they lack: Trixie teaches Starlight spontaneity and confidence. Starlight gives Trixie genuine acceptance and emotional stability. Both are flawed, but neither judges the other too harshly. That dynamic is why many fans see them as one of the most interesting friendships in the series. They are not perfect individuals becoming friends — they are two deeply imperfect people helping each other become better versions of themselves.
