@new.roundup: Emily Wickersham Returns to NCIS Alongside Mark Harmon in Origins—Here’s Why She Left the Show Emily Wickersham is heading back to the NCIS franchise once again. She will appear on the Oct. 27 episode of NCIS: Origins. She posted a selfie with Mark Harmon on Instagram. “A little bit of my origin story,” she wrote. “I love this show, these people, and getting to be a tiny part of it.” Wickersham joined NCIS in season 11 and played Eleanor “Ellie” Bishop for eight seasons. She left at the end of season 18 in 2021. In the finale, Bishop was accused of leaking classified documents and resigned. It was later revealed to be a cover story. A CIA training officer used it so Bishop could go deep undercover. On Instagram, Wickersham said she had worked with her castmates for close to eight years and 172 episodes. Later, she told a podcast, “It was time and I was ready to move on.” She then took a break from acting. She found out she was pregnant a month after leaving. She and her husband, James Badge Dale, now have two sons, Cassius and Zephyr. They married in September 2024. She came back in season 23 for a surprise cameo and a guest spot. On Origins, TVLine reports Bishop is “enlisted by new director Tony DiNozzo to help Gibbs” track down the people who shot him. She is not a permanent cast member. But she told TV Insider, “I would never close the door on that at all.” Would you want her back full-time? #emilywickersham #ncis #ncisorigins #markharmon #elliebishop
