Did cold turkey with breastfeeding. (She was 10 months) She was feeding ALL NIGHT LONG just because. So I just stopped and for 3 days it was hell but after this, she started taking a bottle and then after she started taking a bottle it was much easier to get her in her own bed. It’s beside our bed so she still has me if she needs me but it’s just so much better.

It’s the perfect season to do this! It’ll take 2-3 days. Stay busy!!! No sitting, mama. Car rides and walks for naps. Just be on the go for those days. Obviously night time will suck for those all night boob monsters. I wouldn’t focus on weaning and sleep training, that sounds even more stressful! Once she’s weaned she should sleep through the night or sleep so much better so that will fall into place. As she wakes in the middle of the night, I immediately stood up to comfort them by holding them and rocking. Holding with her head on your shoulder. Don’t let her get into cradle position. Any holding and comforting during the day just make sure you hold her with her head up by yours. You’ve got this!!

I dropped all day feedings then at night when my baby would wake up to feed I would just rock her back to sleep. Took 3 days then she stopped trying lol

I started cutting feeds slowly. Stopped morning feed first, and giving her bottles w 1/2 BM, 1/2 whole milk, then cut feeds after nap, then before nap, then at bed time i would rock her to sleep and tell her “milk all gone”. She eventually fully weaned herself and started sleeping alone all by herself @15 months 💓

dare i say cold turkey… 9 months, cold turkey weaned my son it was HELL for about 4-5 nights then at 10 months got him a floor bed rocked and laid with him till he fell asleep now he’s 2 and all i have to do is lay with him till he falls and he sleeps all night and puts himself in his bed at bedtime and nap time and takes about 5-10 mins for him to fall asleep. don’t feel guilty for having to lay with her to help her sleep, she’s only gonna need you for a short while not forever

Hi mama I’m a sleep consultant and lactation counselor so I help with this all of the time. I protect whatever the mom wants with feeding, but ultimately help move feed away from sleep and wean if that is what is wanted. Feel free to reach out, would love to help you 🌸

Girl you have to go cold turkey!! I would still pump and put it in her bottles! But Bandaids!! Or it sounds so weird but vinegar or mustard right on the nips! Plus the ferber method for sleep!

May be controversial but when I weaned my first I replaced nursing to sleep with a Dr browns straw cup and told him mommy’s milk was gone. That’s what worked for us.

I am currently starting right now been doing it since Monday! I am going a boob in his room and as soon as his eyes start to drop I am putting him in the crib and walking away I only let fussy or cry for about 30-45 seconds then come pat the butt and give him the bottle

i would try to start on a new routine. start with her in your room but in her own bed. get her to sleep then move her to her bed. set the tone maybe get a fan for some noise make it dark. once she’s comfortable get a baby monitor and slowly try her own room. that’s what i did

I breast fed for 16 months, I also fed him to sleep. And still co sleep with him at 3. When we weaned him from bf, at night I would offer a healthy snack and maybe a low stimulation show.(little bear, Clifford, 90’s style kid shows). If they are hungry… they’ll eat the snack. The show might help calm them down. Eventually take the show away and only offer a snack. They’ll start eating more in the day bc the realize they won’t get milk at night to fill them up. Which makes them sleep more bc they are full. You have to stick to it tho. First few nights (3-4 days for my son) it was hard. He cried a lot. I cried too. But we both needed it. All in all it took us a week-2 to fully wean and him to sleep through the night w no snack or calming show.

The only thing that made it super easy was having someone watch her that wasn’t breast-feeding her I had my mom watch her at my house and she was weaned after like three days
