Sometimes yes, that can actually be true. My family set boundaries and my adult kid refuses to respect them. Relationships have been limited now. On the other hand, it can also mean that they can be a generational pattern breaker. That was me, until everyone got therapy and owned their shit. Now we are closer than ever. Thats rare.

I tried to set a boundary and the entire family quit talking to me and the one person I set the boundary with got the rest of the family on her side. This is my husbands family and mind you I have been a part of for 26 years. It’s debilitating!
