Austin Beeman | Wine + Travel :
You have to be the lead of the movie to be actor or actress in the leading role. Anne Hathaway is not the lead of the film.

it has been a good year for film but yeah unfortunately we have been lacking really good female lead parts & also looks like very few people of colour are being considered in awards convos either :(

emily blunt was so incredible in disclosure day and I’m sad she won’t be anywhere near contention bc the film bombed!

Julianne Moore, Olivia Wilde, Sandra Huller, Inde Navarrette (?) and then it’s maybe between Renate Reinsve or Virginie Efira for 5th spot. Mind you streets are saying Jessica Lange could pull a To Leslie

Inde’s performance was the most talked about for the whole first half of the year and Obsession was a major hit. If you want people to watch and care about awards, where the ratings are down significantly from pre Covid, she’s gotta be there.

Olivia Coleman for Wivker would be a nice outsider

Don’t do that :
Zendaya for the Drama, or maybe some Dune Part 3 performances will earn it

Omar Balde :
Emily Blunt for Disclosure Day Zenday, maybe for the Drama But besides that, there were not enough women-led films this year

🍫twixx😸 :
The female lead is not necessarily a lead performance. Anne Hathaway in The Odyssey is a supporting role.

I am so surprised at this entire video, I honestly thought it was a foregone conclusion that Inde Navarette would not only get nominated but was a heavy favorite to win. Hollywood will want to recognize Obsession in some way and thats the most obvious.
