@smokecenter__: The Golden State Valkyries are rewriting professional basketball history under head coach Natalie Nakase, advancing to the WNBA Finals in only their second season of existence. Reaching a championship round this quickly is nearly unprecedented in North American sports, drawing close comparison to the NHL’s Vegas Golden Knights’ historic 2018 inaugural run. By guiding her team to this stage, Nakase has shattered traditional timelines for building a professional sports contender from scratch. For Nakase, paving the way and collecting these historic milestones has been anything but easy. However, Nakase has always broken barriers and defied odds. Now, her relentless grind has culminated in a singular opportunity. Inheriting a blank expansion slate, she immediately took over the Valkyries. Following a gritty victory in Game 5, the Valkyries hold a 3–2 series lead over the Atlanta Dream, putting Nakase and her squad officially one win away from a WNBA ring.
