Salami Tsunami :
Apple has fallen into silly territory. Years ago, they would’ve dodged “folding phones” like the plague both for being a silly trend and for impeding on markets like iPad Mini sales. They also would’ve dodged things like “touchscreen laptops” for impeding on the dual sale of a MacBook and iPads + accessories. Really don’t understand what’s happening internally there. Advertising has gotten weird, product development has gotten weird, outwardly visible goals and their overall mission has gotten murky/disinteresting/all but vanished.

If it can’t flip 180 and become a tablet, I don’t see the point of the touch screen.

Touchscreens are overrated for laptops. What’s the realistic use for them?

It's 2026 and Apple is discovering OLED panels and touch on laptops (you can get that for $500 on Windows laptops, since forever, by the way)
