actual conversation I had on a train in Ukraine two days ago "yeah we had to evacuate the train in the middle of the field last week, because shahed was attacking us. They shot it down before it was able to hit the train, so we cleaned up debris from the track and continued on. However we were 45 minutes late, so it sucked"

I was in Germany 15 years ago and I had a conductor take over a train out of Czechoslovakia that was 20 minutes behind schedule and he said we would be on time soon, he apologized to us after ever stop until we were back on schedule. I was in Germany 5 years ago and found the trains in Germany no longer cared about the schedule. what happened during those 10 years?
