@mollypelletier.rd: How I'd build a reflux and silent reflux supplement stack, sorted by the job each layer does and how strong the evidence is. And I'm giving one away with @reflux_raft 🎁 Supplements sit on top of the basics, never instead of them. A low-acid healing phase and daily reflux habits come first. • Alginate, the raft layer: it floats on top of your stomach contents as a physical barrier, and it has the strongest evidence in the stack. A 2017 meta-analysis of 14 randomized trials (2,095 people) found alginates were more likely than placebo or antacids to resolve symptoms, with about four times the odds. The alginate I recommend is @reflux_raft. • Slippery elm, the soothe-and-coat layer: a mucilage herb with a long traditional history of use to coat the throat, and something I used during my own healing. Traditional use; not yet studied in reflux trials. • L-glutamine: a fuel the cells lining your gut use. Not tested in reflux trials. • Zinc L-carnosine: its research is on supporting the stomach lining, not reflux. There are no adult reflux trials. During my own reflux I had constant throat clearing and a burning throat no one had an answer for. So I formulated @sequoiasoothe, a professional-grade botanical formulated to soothe throat and esophageal tissue: slippery elm, L-glutamine, DGL (licorice with the glycyrrhizin removed) and zinc L-carnosine in one unflavored powder. It is not an alginate: Reflux Raft builds a raft, while Sequoia soothes and coats, so they do different jobs. 🎁 GIVEAWAY: one winner gets a Reflux Raft Berry Burst tube + To-Go multipack, a 1-month supply of Sequoia Soothe and 1 year of the FLORA app. To enter, follow all 3: @mollypelletier.rd, @sequoiasoothe and @reflux_raft No purchase necessary.
