@tutorjerry: TO THE ENGINEERING STUDENT WHO IS LOSING HOPE BECAUSE OF A LECTURER… PLEASE READ THIS. 💔 I have written an examination that I genuinely believed I did excellently well in, only to see a D when the result came out. I know what it feels like to walk into an examination hall believing you have prepared, give the paper your best, and walk away with confidence, only for the result to leave you questioning yourself. And I know that somewhere in our universities, there are brilliant engineering students going through something similar. Some are studying hard but receiving results they cannot understand. Some are afraid to ask questions because of how they might be treated. Some have started doubting their intelligence because one lecturer has made them feel like they will never be good enough. And some are silently carrying pain that nobody sees. Let me say this carefully: a lecturer's responsibility is not just to examine students, but also to help them learn. When a student is struggling, guidance should not become humiliation. When a student performs poorly, feedback should help them understand where they went wrong. Yes, students must work hard. Yes, lecturers must maintain academic standards. But fairness, transparency, and respect should never be sacrificed. If you believe your result does not reflect your performance, don't let anger destroy your future. Review your work if possible. Ask for feedback respectfully. Follow your institution's official procedure for requesting a review. Keep records and seek advice from a trusted academic adviser when necessary. But above everything else, please don't allow one painful experience to convince you that you are not capable of becoming the engineer you dreamed of becoming. Your result is important, but it is not your entire identity. You can be disappointed without giving up. You can question an outcome without disrespecting anyone. You can fight for fairness without losing yourself in bitterness. And to every lecturer reading this: sometimes, a student standing before you is fighting battles you know nothing about. Your standards can challenge them, but your conduct should never destroy their confidence unnecessarily. We need engineers who are competent, disciplined, and resilient. We also need an academic environment where hard work is assessed fairly and students are treated with dignity. Now, I want to ask every engineering student something. Have you ever written an examination believing you performed excellently, only to receive a result that shocked you? How did you handle it, and what would you tell a student going through that experience today? Share your experience. Someone may need to know they are not alone. Let's have this conversation with honesty, respect, and wisdom. ✊🏿 #stem #engineeringstudent #dailyfacts
