In 1941 Here Comes Mr Jordan is an all time classic and should of been mentioned, in 1944 Hitchcocks Lifeboat should of been recognized, in 1946 The Best Years of our Life again deserved a mention.

Double Indemnity is probably my favorite film of the 40s, but The Best Years of Our Lives is up there.

So many of the greatest films were made in the 40’s— adding to your list is Gaslight, The Heiress, The Ghost and Mrs. Muir, Now Voyager, Out of the Past, and Random Harvest.🎥🎞️💫

His girl Friday had no pauses in between dialogue, so the pacing was going past the speed limit.

The 1940's had a lot of great movies. I have seen most of these. Best Years of our Lives should have been mentioned, it gave insight of returning veterans as few other movies was able to do.

It’s a Wonderful Life was the first film that Stewart did after his service in the war. Mostly you can see it on the close ups of George at his lowest time of his life. War is brutal!!

Disney did not come up with the term. “Phantasia” is an ancient Greek word for imagination. I have aphantasia—I don’t form pictures in my mind’s eye. I can imagine and understand things, but I don’t “see” them in my head.

You mentioned “Suspicion” twice - the 2nd time you meant “Spellbound.” These are great recommendations throughout. Thanks!
