I spent the first year after my sociopathic ex left trying to figure out how he could never want to see our daughter again. It drove me insane because he was so present with her the whole time we were together. It got to the point that it was actually eating me alive inside that I couldn’t logically explain how he could do that. And I was losing trust in MYSELF because I couldn’t wrap my head around how I didn’t see the signs. Then I realize it’s because I’m not mentally insane. My brain quite literally couldn’t comprehend it because I myself could never in a million years do that.
