@bars: 12 years ago today Future dropped ‘Monster’… one of the greatest mixtapes ever made Amid criticism of his musical direction, Future returned to recording with DJ Esco encouraging him to put what he was going through into music Executive produced by Metro Boomin, ‘Monster’ began a run of three mixtapes in five months that helped rebuild his momentum and became a turning point in his career Its nearly six-minute outro “Codeine Crazy” brings that personal writing into focus, with Future openly acknowledging addiction while reflecting on relationships, fatherhood and the pressures of success over TM88’s production TM88 later revealed that he originally made the beat with Nicki Minaj in mind before sending it to Future as part of a pack that contributed several songs to ‘Monster’ What’s your favorite song from ‘Monster’? #monster #future #pluto #fyp #rap
