@erikkipka: Someone flies straight down the jump run after opening their parachute… I pulled at 3,500 ft. At 2,500 ft, they passed just a few meters below me. A few seconds later, and this could’ve been a mid-air collision. This is why you need to respect the jump run. ⚠️ A few seconds difference and this could’ve ended very differently. Always know where you are in relation to other jumpers. #Skydiving #SkydivingSafety #Parachute #Skydive #LearnFromThis
Been skydiving 25 years, taught my son 8 years ago. I’ve always said it’s other people you have to watch out for. I’ve had other people almost kill me more times than I care to count. I always make it a point to know what the people in front of me and behind me are doing and how high they are pulling. Be safe and keep your head on a swivel.

Someone deployed right underneath me a few jumps ago. I ended up pulling at 2500 instead of 4k which wasn’t the smartest move but I panicked and looked to make sure I knew where every person in my group was before I pulled. Turns out it was a solo who got out too early and then backslid down jump run past 2 groups

Glad it worked out. Flying up jumprun is not cool. But I just wanna say, maybe just maybe you also jumped a little bit to fast after that guy? Exit seperation is important to.
