@rap.minded: Jamie Foxx’s own daughter didn’t believe he was the voice behind Pi’erre Bourne’s producer tag 😭🔥 “Yo Pi’erre, you wanna come out here?” was sampled from a 1996 episode of “The Jamie Foxx Show.” Jamie’s character is calling for an imaginary French chef at the hotel restaurant. Years later, those words became Pi’erre’s signature on records like Playboi Carti’s “Magnolia” and Young Nudy’s “Long Ride.” When “Magnolia” took off in 2017, the tag became an internet catchphrase of its own. Fans were repeating Pi’erre’s name along with the song, and a line from a ’90s sitcom became part of a new generation’s rap vocabulary. Even Pi’erre’s stage name has a separate TV and movie backstory. “Pi’erre” was inspired by Kenan Thompson’s Pierre Escargot character on “All That,” while “Bourne” came from “The Bourne Identity.” He had already chosen the name in middle school. Foxx later explained that his daughter was too young to have watched his sitcom when it originally aired. When he told her that familiar voice was his, she didn’t believe him. He said he had to show her where the line came from, which earned him some “cool points.” He also said he liked how Pi’erre had used the line and hadn’t charged him for it. Is this a top 5 producer tag of all time? 🤔⁉️ #rap #hiphop #rapmusic #hiphopmusic
