Can you both in a couple claim the carers element? My husband was made redundant last year and we’ve had to go on UC, we get all the disabled element for both of our children - both high rate, I get the the carers element my husband doesn’t as his actively looking for work however both children’s needs have significantly got more intense and his having to do more as I physically can’t split myself in two and has needed to change UC apts due to needing to help with caring (both have full time 1:1 in there ehcps and both high rate care to give context of how much support they need) can he claim the carers element as well? He still wants to work so will still job search but his line of work is fully remote which is what we need to fit in around our kids.

I got a hefty back payment, but they have not stopped harassing me since. Wanting bank statements twice, then got a form to fill in asking if I am the correct appointed person to receive DLA for my child, if I act in his best interests. It was a 2yr fight to get the back dated payment, almost wish I hadnt bothered.

our disabled s.e.n.d son is 21yr old now so we had to put in his own uc claim on his behalf as he is completely non verbal and mentally aged 3-4yr old so how van we check if we received correct payments before he had to have his own uc xx

I'm just struggling for them to verify my childd DLA I updated the award on UC 2 weeks still not done . Ive also updated the carers part. they never get things done fast
