@tulimevava.tc: Guess what we did? MY KIDS AND I PACKED OUR BAGS AND WENT CAMPING! We travelled beyond Ruacana town to Tjikuvi Lodge, about 30 km from Oshifo, for an unforgettable outdoor adventure with our the kids from small rooms. As someone who absolutely loves camping, I wanted the kids to experience something different — a chance to disconnect from their usual routines, explore nature, challenge themselves, work together, and create memories that go beyond the basketball court. From climbing mountains , collecting firewood in the forest , setting up tents , and cooking over an open fire, to swimming in a dam water pool, enjoying Stockbrot around the fire, and participating in team-building games. We visited Etunda, picked up some fresh watermelons, explored the beautiful Ruacana Waterfalls, and shared the basketball court with friends from Ruacana and Ohongo. My personal highlights? Cooking over an open fire and walking up the mountain! There is something special about being outdoors, enjoying the simple things, and watching young people discover what they are capable of. But beyond the fun, this trip was about something deeper. It was about building confidence, independence, teamwork, friendships, and life skills. It was about teaching our kids that some of life’s greatest lessons happen outside the classroom — and sometimes, away from the basketball court.
