The demand to be consistently productive is awful. I function in productivity spikes. My best managers are ones that recognize that and give me projects that require a lot of effort for a few days that other people would not get done, like deep cleaning or processing large amounts of data. Then I just chill and sporadically get small stuff done when I don't have a project. My IT help desk job is like that RN and I like it a lot. Spent 5 hrs straight organizing our hundreds of Ethernet cables by color and length once. I've also probably catalogued thousands of computers over the last few months and track missing ones down often, which is fun
