After years of traveling around the world chasing the Northern Lights, we’ve learned that where you stay can make a huge difference. We’d much rather watch the aurora from our own cabin, hotel room, or even a ship than spend hours driving around in the middle of the night hoping to find clear skies. From glass-roofed cabins in Alaska and remote lodges in Canada to waterfront stays in Norway and cozy hotels in Iceland, these are some of the places we’ve stayed where we got to see the Northern Lights. We even spotted them from a Super 8 in Yellowknife. 🙃 Of course, the Northern Lights are never guaranteed, no matter where you stay.
