Do you ever just hum inaudibly soft to try and isolate the CT, and take as much TA dominance out of the picture? I have been doing a lot of research about that recently and found significant success with that myself and my studio students. There is some information on this that can be accessed through the Lions Voice Clinic. It’s more of a Speech Language Pathologist spell than a vocal pedagogues, but I’m kinda a whore of pedagogy and will use whatever works.
