I just love how discussion opening it is from Los Angeles. Like let's talk about affordability in Los Angeles instead of just calling people broke. Like having a roof over your head shouldn't cost you $2300 a month anywhere. I also love how it's addressing that it's not just rent control that people in Los Angeles desperately need, they need the rent to go down. If you're living in a building that's older than 1965, there's no reason you should be paying fair market rates on a house that's outdated and has been remodeled Since the 90s. Honestly what a time to be alive in life because right now my feed is mixed with rent control and Landlords is getting upset at even stricter control laws that are coming hopefully. Upsets me how many units there are in Los Angeles I have been applying for section 8 since I was 18. It's been 12 years and I haven't even been waitlisted...... I was literally born in Cedar Sinai but I don't think that needs priority ... she does have a point how people who have been from Los Angeles their entire life are getting priced out of their own neighborhoods.
